Visual artist Elis Vermeulen (1961, Amsterdam) lives and works in the province of Zeeland, The Netherlands. With her installations she invites the spectator to become part of her work and have his own individual experience. They also interact with their environment in this way bringing work, environment and spectator together as parts of the same story.
With her label Comfort Zone she works in an applied context focussing on handmade products of felted and raw wool, experimenting with functionality and feel.
Elis is co-founder of Feltunited.com, a portal for the international felt-artists community. She regularly teaches and gives workshops on both the practical and technical aspects of felt-making as well as on working with felt as a medium for artistic expression.
